Nicol highlighted the partnerships between researchers and patients in the search for new and holistic treatment approaches and stressed the importance of trial readiness and trial fitness. She also referred to the need for international collaborations including FSHD Europe/ ETN, EURO-NMD, patient organisations and many others.
It is amazing to see how patients living with a neuromuscular condition are truly the source of inspiration for all her work and how she constantly learning from the experiences of patients in both care and science.
We are very grateful to Nicol for all her efforts and hard work, and we feel very lucky she is medical advisor of FSHD Europe and chair of the FSHD European Trial Network and so heavily involved in the international FSHD community.
